Murang'a Industrial Park Gains Momentum as Six Companies Secure 99-Year Leases
Six companies including Absolute Healthcare, Top Pork, and Kenagro Industries have received 99-year leases at Murang'a's 1,300-acre industrial park on former Del Monte land.

Murang'a County's ambition to become a manufacturing hub has received a major boost after six companies secured 99-year leases at the Murang'a Industrial Park, paving the way for new factory developments and increased investment.

The investors were among companies issued with allotment letters for land at the 1,300-acre industrial park, which is being developed on former Del Monte land.

County officials say more than half of the available space has already been taken up, reflecting growing investor confidence in the project.

Governor Irungu Kang'ata said the county has already collected about KSh240 million in lease fees, funds that will be used to expand infrastructure and support further investment within the industrial park.

Driving industrial growth

The industrial park combines an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) and a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), allowing investors to establish businesses serving both export and domestic markets. Factory construction has already begun on several sites.

County leaders expect the project to create thousands of jobs, increase demand for agricultural produce and position Murang'a as a leading destination for manufacturing and value addition.

With investor interest continuing to grow, the industrial park is expected to play a key role in supporting Kenya's industrialisation agenda while attracting additional local and foreign investment.
